Pacific Interior Design Group was established by Denise Szabo to create a collaboration of design professionals working together to bring special and unique design solutions for each client.
The design team enjoys the challenge of creative design within the client’s desires and budget. A talent for combining tasteful style with extraordinary attention to detail is a winning combination that has produced an extensive list of satisfied clientele.
We recently interviewed Denise Szabo, founder, president and lead designer.
When did you first realize you wanted to become a designer?
When I was 10 and moving around my parents furniture and suggesting paint colors. That was also the year I started taking oil painting classes.
If you could do the interior of any person in the world, who would that be? Why?
Queen Nefertiti, because she was known for her beauty and leadership in a quit yet powerful way.
Who are the three most inspiring people in your life?
The three most inspiring people in my life would be my daughters, one is artist and the other is a photographer and my older brother because he took me to my first museum.
How much does art come into play when designing?
Art comes in to play from the very begining, it is generally how I start the design.
How do you locate art for projects?
Usually art is located by pallet, design, and availability. How I locate it is, show rooms, private venues and artist.
What has been your most rewarding project so far?
My most rewarding is when I designed an entire home for a client that truly understood design.
What has been the biggest nightmare project so far?
When I begin a design and clients begin to cut back on the design due to the construction phase.
Who is your favorite architect?
Andrea di Pietro della Gondola, known to history as “Palladio” the classical Roman architect. I’ve been fortunate enough to have seen a lot of his work in person.
Who is your favorite artist?
My favorite masters Picasso and Monet.
Who is your favorite fashion designer?
Isaac Mizrahi
Who is your favorite composer, band, musician?
My favorite musician is Nat King Cole.
What is your favorite color?
All shades of Green.
